Sharpton Defends Obama Using Race Card

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

President Obama’s desperation just hit a new high as evidenced by his low blow claim that his sinking popularity is due to his race.

In typical and predictable style, Obama blamed others – specifically whites – for his plummeting polls.

In David Remes lengthy and wide ranging story, “Going The Distance: On and off the road with Barack Obama,” posted on The New Yorker website, Obama said:

“There’s no doubt that there’s some folks who just really dislike me because they don’t like the idea of a black President,” Obama said. “Now, the flip side of it is there are some black folks and maybe some white folks who really like me and give me the benefit of the doubt precisely because I’m a black President.” The latter group has been less in evidence of late.

While Obama used the race card in the past with regard to others such as the arrest of Harvard Professor Louis Gates,

“I think it’s fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry. Number two, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home. And number three – what I think we know separate and apart from this incident – is that there is a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately, and that’s just a fact.”

and the Trayvon Martin shooting,

“You know, if I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon,” Mr. Obama said.

“All of us have to do some soul-searching to figure out how does something like this happen,” he continued. “And that means that we examine the laws and the context for what happened as well as the specifics of the incident.”

this is the first time Obama directly blamed race on his job performance.

Naturally, Al Sharpton defended Obama’s use of the race card and thought that Obama should be using race more often:

“I think he wrongly is blamed for using a race card, but I think many of us are frustrated he hasn’t brought up race as it relates to him more than he has.”

Obama is solely responsible for his falling poll numbers; he rammed ObamaCare down our throats and repeatedly lied about the consequences of his health care plan.

Unfortunately, the increasing desperation of Obama and his progressive allies will result in more race card dealing in an effort to distract Americans from his failures.
