Sen McCain Compares Trump Scandals To Watergate
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
The Democrats favorite senator did it again.
Senator John McCain (R-AZ) made comments last night that compared the scandals swirling around President Trump to Watergate.
The New York Times story claiming that Trump asked Comey to end the FBI investigation of former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn appears to have triggered McCain’s comment.
The White House is refuting the news story.
The Washington Examiner reports:
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., on Tuesday evening said allegations against President Trump’s administration have reached a “Watergate size and scale.”
McCain, who has not been an ardent supporter of Trump, made the comment at an International Republican Institute panel in Washington, D.C., according to reporters who attended.
Known as the maverick, McCain frequently goes his own way on policy where he has a history of siding with Democrats.
McCain never really liked Trump so it’s not surprising he would use the negative news cycle to pile on against the president.
Unfortunately, politicians like McCain are too quick to comment before all the facts are in. Sadly, they think about themselves before their constituents or country.
