White House Chief Of Staff Kelly Strikes Back At Rep Gutierrez For Calling Him “A Disgrace”
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Following President Trump’s decision to end DACA, Representative Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) harshly criticized the White House chief of staff former General John Kelly.
Kelly did not hold back and fired back at Gutierrez.
First, the background from Powerline:
Rep. Luis Gutierrez, Congressman open-borders himself, went on a rant today against John Kelly, the White House chief of staff. Gutierrez pronounced Kelly, who served in the Marines for more than 40 years, “a hypocrite who is a disgrace to the uniform he used to wear.” Gutierrez added that Kelly “has no honor and should be drummed out of the White House along with the white supremacists and those enabling the President’s actions by ‘just following orders.’”
Fox News had an exclusive story on Kelly’s response to Gutierrez.
In an email to Fox News late Sunday, Kelly responded by saying Congress did “nothing” to help so-called Dreamers when they had the chance.
“As far as the congressman and other irresponsible members of congress are concerned, they have the luxury of saying what they want as they do nothing and have almost no responsibility,” Kelly said. “They can call people liars but it would be inappropriate for me to say the same thing back at them. As my blessed mother used to say ‘empty barrels make the most noise.’”
Gutierrez is a huge fan of amnesty and a vocal opponent of Trump.
Kelly was right to call out Gutierrez for daring to criticize Kelly regarding his military background.
For far too long, Representatives in Congress make outrageous comments to generate headlines in the media and don’t get any pushback.
Gutierrez should have known better to verbally attack a former marine.
