States Move Forward With Their Own Cap-and-Trade Programs

Politico reported on “state-led climate programs.”

On the Federal level, thankfully, Obama’s cap-and-trade plan is on hold in the Senate.

However, cap-and-trade is moving at the state level.  For instance, there are currently ten Northeast states participating in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Iinitiative.  This is the first mandatory cap-and-trade system in the country for energy producing sectors.

With a slow economy and high unemployment the last thing our states need are higher electricity prices.
