Did Race-Based Special Interests Have Veto Power over the NBC-Comcast Merger?
Following approvals by the Federal Communications Commission and the U.S. Justice Department, the planned merger between NBC Universal – owned by General Electric – and Comcast is about to be finalized.
The regulatory approvals by the Obama Administration quickly followed an agreement struck between the corporations and minority special interest groups.
It’s appalling that General Electric and Comcast allowed themselves to be bullied by special interests. Even more concerning is the Obama Administration condoning special treatment for minorities as a prerequisite for corporate mergers.
