The Orlando club shooting was the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history, and the second largest act of terror on U.S. soil since the 9/11 terror attacks. Not surprisingly, Florida Governor Rick Scott is still waiting for President Obama’s phone call.
According to Business Insider:
Florida Gov. Rick Scott said on Tuesday that President Barack Obama has not called him after the worst terrorist attack on US soil – which took place in Scott’s home state – since September 11, 2001.
“No. He has not called,” the Republican governor told “Fox & Friends.”
Scott noted that a “staffer has called,” but reiterated that Obama has “not called.”
A call to the Governor is the most basic of gestures the President can make to support the state of Florida through this horrific tragedy. It really is the bare minimum. Even former president George W. Bush gave Governor Scott a call to let him know the Bush family was praying for Florida. Presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump also called the Florida governor.
President Obama: the message you are sending with your silence is deafening.
