Taking A Pause On Climate Change Al Gore Takes Health Care Position

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Former Vice President Al Gore is now commenting on the health care debate.

During a speech on his new global warming movie “An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power,” Gore went off script and called for the public option.

The Huffington Post reports:

Al Gore called for single-payer health care on Tuesday, one day after a revolt by GOP senators dashed Republican hopes of passing a bill to repeal Obamacare.

Speaking at an event to promote his new climate change documentary, the former vice president said health insurance companies have failed to offer cost-effective coverage, even under the Affordable Care Act. A government-run, single-payer system would provide taxpayer-funded basic health care coverage for everyone.

The former vice president was also recently interviewed by Stephen Colbert and Gore commented on the Russian efforts to influence the election.

Gore is 0-2. He struck out on climate change and now he is striking out on health care.
