Poll Throws Cold Water On Oprah Presidential Run

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The media and Hollywood’s push for Oprah to run for president is meeting resistance from voters.

Following her speech at the Golden Globe Awards, the media and Hollywood elites promoted Oprah as a candidate for president.

A Morning Consult/Politico poll reported a large majority don’t want Oprah to run for president and Democrats prefer other possible candidates.

The national poll of registered voters found fifty-nine percent don’t want Oprah to run for president while only 24 percent said she should run for the highest political office. The remainder of those surveyed didn’t have an opinion.

Most concerning about Oprah for president supporters is the fact Democrats prefer former Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

Morning Consult reported, “The poll found Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (I) would beat Winfrey, 46 percent to 37 percent. But former Vice President Joe Biden would beat Winfrey by a larger margin, 54 percent to 31 percent, among Democrats.”

The only good news for Oprah is she polled better than Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).

In head-to-head primary matchups with a handful of possible Democratic 2020 contenders, Winfrey performed best against New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand among Democrats, leading her 44 percent to 23 percent. She also leads Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren 39 percent to 35 percent.

Other good news for Oprah is that she narrowly beats President Trump.

Judging by the poll, Oprah would not compete against President Trump because she couldn’t survive the Democrat primary.
