Obama Working On Netflix Deal
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Former President Barack Obama is in talks with Netflix to produce shows for the global streaming service.
According to the New York Times, both the former president and his wife Michelle would create content that would not directly challenge President Trump but instead produce “shows that highlight inspirational stories.”
But the Netflix deal, while not a direct answer to Fox News or Breitbart.com, would give Mr. Obama an unfiltered method of communication with the public similar to the audiences he already reaches through social media, with 101 million Twitter followers and 55 million people who have liked his Facebook page.
The news story does mention the former president could address policy issues ranging from health care to foreign affairs in the shows.
President Trump is successfully using social media to directly communicate with the public and it looks like former President Obama is seeking a way to stay relevant and also communicate to mass audiences.
