DNC Sues Trump Campaign, Russia For Alleged 2016 Election Collusion

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) filed a lawsuit against the Trump campaign, Russia, and WikiLeaks over alleged coordination and collusion of the 2016 presidential election.

Daily Mail reports:

The political party alleges that top Trump campaign officials conspired with the Russian government and its military spy agency to hurt Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and tilt the election to Trump by hacking Democratic Party computers.

The Washington Post was first to report the multi-million dollar lawsuit, filed in Manhattan.

It alleges that a large racketeering-type conspiracy to harm Hillary Clinton’s candidacy existed between the Trump campaign, WikiLeaks and Russia that was furthered by hacking and publishing emails belonging to the DNC.

‘The Russian government notified the Trump campaign in advance that it had stolen Democratic emails and other information about the Democratic Party that it was seeking to use in support of Trump’s candidacy,’ the DNC claimed Friday in a press release.

DNC Chairman Tom Perez is a harsh critic of President Trump and the organization alleges Trump’s campaign, “‘conspired’ with the Russian government,” to gain a political advantage.

Breitbart reports:

DNC Chairman Tom Perez said in a statement: “During the 2016 presidential campaign, Russia launched an all-out assault on our democracy, and it found a willing and active partner in Donald Trump’s campaign.”

“This constituted an act of unprecedented treachery: the campaign of a nominee for President of the United States in league with a hostile foreign power to bolster its own chance to win the presidency,” he said.

The DNC’s multi-million dollar lawsuit, first reported by The Washington Post, has its own set of challenges.

The Post noted that suing Russia presents legal challenges, since other nations have immunity from most U.S. lawsuits. The suit reportedly seeks an acknowledgment from the defendants that they conspired to infiltrate Democrats’ computers, steal information, and disseminate it to influence the 2016 election — essentially, the Democrats’ core collusion claims.

Since Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation is unraveling, the left is becoming more desperate with their rhetoric in an effort to drive voters to the polls as the midterm elections approach.
