Jim Carrey Backs Kaepernick And Urges Democrats To Support Socialism
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Comedian Jim Carrey supported controversial former quarterback and leader of Nike’s advertising campaign Colin Kaepernick during an interview on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.”
Carrey also urged Democrats to go all in and back socialism.
The Washington Post reports:
“I bought me some freedom-friendly Nikes!” Carrey declared unapologetically.
By the end of the show, the actor had likened President Trump to a used-car salesman and urged Democrats to embrace socialism. He seemed nonplused when Maher warned that Republicans were already using the specter of socialism to attack Democrats ahead of the upcoming midterm elections.
The story notes Carrey, who is from Canada, bragged about the success of the Canadian health care system. He said he never had to wait on line and touted free prescriptions.
Bill Maher promoted the segment with Carrey on Twitter:
"Because you voted Republican you're not stupid, you're not different, you're not worthless. I can break bread with anybody who voted for Trump. We could find some common ground to love each other. Just stop doing stupid shit." –@JimCarrey pic.twitter.com/XAl70EYcJv

Carrey also showed the audience his Nike sneakers in a visual display of support of Kaepernick and the sportswear company and he also slammed President Trump.
The Huffington Post reports:
For the interview, the actor-artist donned a new pair of Nike sneakers in honor of the brand’s promo deal with former 49er quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who began taking a knee during the national anthem before NFL games in 2016 to protest police brutality and systemic racial injustice. Carrey previously hailed Nike’s decision with a cartoon.
Trump is “a used car salesman,” said Carrey, whose artwork has taken aim at the Trump administration in recent months.
“He didn’t make America great again but he did turn back the odometer,” he added. “So who knows what the hell is wrong with us.”
Carrey is part of the Hollywood elite who uses his fame to blast President Trump while ignoring the horrors of socialism that the world is witnessing in Venezuela.
