Al Sharpton Calls Young Black Leadership Summit With Trump ‘Shameful’
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Young black conservatives got a warm welcome at the White House and Al Sharpton was quick to criticize the gathering.
The event was organized by Turning Point USA.
Sharpton used MSNBC as a platform to slam the White House over the Young Black Leadership Summit.
Sharpton said the meeting was “shameful” and accused President Trump of “using” blacks attending the meeting as “props.”
Discussing Trump and how he used young blacks for another photo op at the White House today instead of discussing issues of importance, this time he called it a “young black leadership summit”. Shameful. #DeadlineWhiteHouse pic.twitter.com/hL44xfWs6E

The young black conservatives attending the summit were greeted by Donald Trump Jr.
Politico reports:
Donald Trump Jr. praised a group of hundreds of black conservatives gathered in Washington, D.C., on Thursday evening for supporting his father, President Donald Trump, when the large majority of black Americans do not.
“You guys have the most guts of anyone in America,” Trump Jr. said to the Hyatt ballroom speckled with red “Make America Great Again” hats and beanies.
Donald Trump Jr. promoted his meeting with black conservatives on Twitter:
Check out the energy & passion
The largest ever young conservative black summit started tonight
I am sure @CNN @MSNBC @CBS @ABC will all be covering this, right?
This is an incredible gathering and worthy of national coverage

President Trump spoke to the group and they were thrilled to see and hear from the president.
The New York Post reports:
President Trump praised a group of young black conservatives for their courage and said he’s sure some are headed for the White House.
“A lot of people are jealous of you,” Trump said Friday at the White House to the Young Black Leadership Summit. “And jealousy’s a very bad thing. It’s mean. It’s nasty. But people that are jealous, they never make it, you know? They’re jealous, they never make it.”
Sharpton is deeply worried he is losing his grip on the black community.
