179 Times CNN and MSNBC Pushed to Impeach Trump Following BuzzFeed Story
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Cable TV networks pushed the idea of impeaching President Trump over 200 times following a BuzzFeed story that claimed the president told his former lawyer Michael Cohen to lie to Congress.
The Daily Caller reports:
According to a Daily Caller review of TV clipping service Grabien, personalities on CNN and MSNBC used the words “Impeach,” “Impeachment,” or “Impeachable,” 179 times.
The review included only original Friday programming and ran up until each network learned that BuzzFeed’s report was in dispute — shortly before 8 pm.
CNN mentioned impeachment 82 times while MSNBC mentioned it a whopping 97 times.
The credibility of the BuzzFeed story was undermined by a statement from the office of Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
Fox News reports:
Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office on Friday issued an extraordinary statement disputing a bombshell news report that claimed President Trump directed Michael Cohen to lie about the timing of discussions over a proposed Trump Tower project in Moscow.
“BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the Special Counsel’s Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s Congressional testimony are not accurate,” Peter Carr, a spokesman for Mueller’s office, said.
President Trump responded to the BuzzFeed story on Twitter:
Many people are saying that the Mainstream Media will have a very hard time restoring credibility because of the way they have treated me over the past 3 years (including the election lead-up), as highlighted by the disgraceful Buzzfeed story & the even more disgraceful coverage!

President Trump also reminded the public that BuzzFeed published the discredited so-called dirty dossier:
Remember it was Buzzfeed that released the totally discredited “Dossier,” paid for by Crooked Hillary Clinton and the Democrats (as opposition research), on which the entire Russian probe is based! A very sad day for journalism, but a great day for our Country!

The Washington Post reports on the number of times the media got it wrong regarding President Trump.
Although the details about what it got wrong are still sketchy, BuzzFeed News’ apparently mistaken story about Michael Cohen and President Trump is the highest profile fail yet for a news organization during a period of heightened and intense scrutiny of the press.
Reporters at the Guardian, CNN, McClatchy News and other outlets have published disputed, suspect or uncorroborated stories about Trump and the investigation swirling around him since special counsel Robert S. Mueller III began his probe 21 months ago. Each instance has elicited cries of “fake news” from the president and his supporters, stoking the claim that the mainstream media is biased and irresponsible.
Left-wing media outlets such as CNN and MSNBC are pushing propaganda to undermine President Trump.
