Bloomberg Climate Change Plan Will End Use of Coal and Natural Gas

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Former New York City Mayor and 2020 presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg announced his plans to attack climate change.

Bloomberg wants to close every coal-fired power plant in the U.S. and over time end the use of natural gas.

His overall goal is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 50 percent by 2030.

Bloomberg announced his plan in Alexandria, Virginia.

In addition to seeking to close the remaining 251 coal power plants, Bloomberg wants to “Immediately stop the rush to build all proposed gas plants.”

His ultimate goal is to generate 100 percent of electricity from clean sources.

The Bloomberg campaign posted his climate change plan announcement.

Bloomberg is very serious about ending the use of coal in the U.S.

Through his foundation, Bloomberg is funding the Sierra Club’s Beyond Coal campaign.

Bloomberg Philanthropies promoted its support of the Beyond Coal campaign on its website.

Bloomberg’s presidential campaign video includes his support of climate change policies contrasting himself from President Trump.

Bloomberg is a serious climate change policy warrior and his plan would drive electricity prices higher and destroy jobs in the energy sector as well as harm manufacturing jobs.
