Ocasio-Cortez Says Using Term ‘surge’ to Describe Border Crisis Promotes White Supremacy

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

New York Democrat Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says anyone calling the border crisis a “surge” is promoting “White supremacist idea-philosophy.”

Fox News reports:

“And that’s a problem because this is not a surge, these are children and they are not insurgents and we are not being invaded, which by the way is a White supremacist idea-philosophy, the idea that if another is coming in the population that this is an invasion of who we are,” the congresswoman continued.

Ocasio-Cortez is mostly silent over the border crisis under the Biden administration but made a few critical comments about the reopening of the migrant facilities.

Ocasio-Cortez also said the Department of Homeland Security “shouldn’t exist,” and the U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement “gotta go.”

However, Ocasio-Cortez was a constant critic of former President Trump and was highly critical of his handling of the southern border.

New York Post reports:

Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has repeatedly been accused of ducking the dangerously overcrowded migrant detention centers despite saying they were akin to “concentration camps” under the previous administration.

Ocasio-Cortez’s double standard over the border crisis is apparent.

In July 2019, Ocasio-Cortez cried listening to the story of a child who allegedly died while held by U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement.

Critics of Ocasio-Cortez commented on social media.

Ocasio-Cortez invoking racism to slam anyone calling out the southern border crisis is a way to change the narrative to deflect from reality.

The hypocrisy over Ocasio-Cortez dealing with the current border crisis is stunning but, unfortunately, not too surprising given Ocasio-Cortez’s record.
