Tennessee Lawmakers Blast Biden Over Unannounced Late Night Migrant Children Arrival

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Tennessee lawmakers are blasting President Biden over the unannounced late-night arrival of migrant children at a Chattanooga airport.

None of the lawmakers, including Tennessee’s Governor Bill Lee, were aware of the arrival of late-night flights carrying migrant children.

WRCB in Chattanooga broke the story.

Tennessee Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn and Republican Representative Chuck Fleischmann criticized Biden for transporting migrant children to their state without their knowledge.

Lee issued a statement to Fox News where he blasted Biden for sending migrant children around the country and asserted the administration sent the children unannounced because he and other governors urged them to take action on the border crisis.

“The Biden Administration refuses to secure the border and is instead scattering unaccompanied kids all over the country with no regard for the consequences,” Lee said in a statement to Fox News. “When we push back and demand answers, they cut off transparency and embolden one of the worst human trafficking crises we’ve seen at our border in the last 20 years.”

WBIR also reported on migrant children arriving late at night in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Fox News also included the May 11 letter from Lee and other governors that urged Biden to make efforts to deal with the border crisis.

The inability of the Biden administration to address the crisis, especially with children, was highlighted in a recent New York Times story, “For Migrant Children in Federal Care, a ‘Sense of Desperation.’”

The story describes how some of the facilities holding children are below the standards set by the Biden administration including a lack of transparency about what is actually occurring in the shelters. One concern is the facilities are not open to the public.

But interviews with children’s advocates and a review of weeks of internal reports obtained by The New York Times paint a picture of a shelter system with wildly varying conditions, some of which are far below the standard of care that the Biden administration has promised.

The border crisis is real and it’s also a humanitarian crisis for migrant children.

Transporting children in the dead of night illustrates the Biden administration is trying to hide from Americans the impact of children entering cities across the country.

It’s outrageous Biden has not made efforts to stop the border crisis considering its adverse consequences for Americans, as well as those seeking to enter the U.S. through the wrong channels.
