Leon Panetta Continues to Deny Authenticity of Hunter Biden Laptop

The former Defense Department Secretary and CIA Head Defends Disinformation Campaign

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Long-time Democrat top bureaucrat Leon Panetta denied the authenticity of the Hunter Biden laptop during a TV interview on Fox News.

Special Report host Brett Baier asked Panetta about his effort to discredit the Hunter Biden laptop during the last weeks of the 2020 presidential campaign.

Panetta joined 50 other former intelligence officials that signed a letter concluding Hunter’s laptop “has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”

Responding to Baier’s question, Panetta said, “I don’t have any regrets about [the letter claiming Hunter’s laptop was Russian disinformation]”

Panetta held very senior positions in Democrat administrations. He was President Clinton’s chief of staff and under President Obama, Panetta was the Secretary of the Defense Department and Director of the CIA.

This is not the first time Panetta defended signing the letter. During a CNN interview in July with anchor Kaitlan Collins, she asked if he regretted signing the letter, “given what we know now.”

Panetta responded, “No, not at all.”

The letter had an impact on the campaign and it was used by then-candidate Joe Biden to discredit Hunter’s laptop during the last debate with President Trump.

Subsequently, not only was the Hunter laptop determined to be authentic, motivation of the letter was to get Joe Biden elected as president.

Of interest, current Secretary of State Antony Blinken was the motivation behind the letter campaign. Former acting CIA Director Michael Morrell testified that Blinken was “the impetus” of the letter. Also, Morrell said one goal of the letter was “to help then-Vice President Biden in the debate and to assist him in winning the election.”

In a news story, The Washington Examiner wrote Morrell and others wanted “… to give the VP a talking point to use in response,” in the debate with Trump.

Panetta was called out for being a liar on X.

It’s ironic that Panetta and his band of intel bureaucrats, not the Russians, were engaged in a high level and effective election interference effort.

As always, Democrats do what they accuse others of doing and people like Panetta can lie without any consequences.
