RNC Fights NBC and CNN Over Production of Hillary Clinton Specials

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

By Tom Borelli

Recently, NBC and CNN announced they were going to produce and broadcast specials on Hillary Clinton. NBC plans on making a four-hour miniseries on the former Secretary of State and CNN said they were making a documentary on Clinton which would be shown first in movie theaters and then on its network.

Responding to the media’s obvious effort to promote the probable Hillary Clinton candidacy for president in 2016, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus accused the networks of putting “a thumb on the scales” and threatened to pull RNC support of 2016 debates if the networks continued with their plans.

Fox News reported:

In a written statement, Priebus said if the networks don’t meet his demands, he will seek a “binding vote” at the upcoming Aug. 14 RNC meeting declaring that the party “will neither partner with these networks in 2016 primary debates nor sanction primary debates they sponsor.

The link between the media and progressive politicians goes well beyond bias media coverage and includes personal and financial connections.

For example, Comcast CEO Brian Roberts was a member of President Obama’s Jobs and Competiveness Council and in 2012, Obama visited Robert’s vacation home in Martha’s Vineyard. As Preibus’ letter to NBC notes, Comcast employees were huge donors to Democrats and President Obama’s reelection effort.

Challenging NBC and CNN is the best thing I’ve seen from the RNC in years. Fighting for liberty must include aggressively challenging the media and their corporate parents.
