Chicago Mayor Lightfoot Blames Republicans for Chicago Gun Violence

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Chicago neighborhoods suffered another bloody weekend over the Labor Day holiday.

Even with additional police officers working to help prevent the violence over extended weekends, the bloodshed continues.

Breitbart reports, that “At least 41 people were shot, seven fatally, over Labor Day Weekend 2019 in Democrat-controlled Chicago.”

Newly elected Democrat Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot experienced back to back violent holiday weekends since taking office earlier this year.

Chicago Sun-Times reports:

She’s already weathered two other bloody holiday weekends in the first few months on the job. Over the long Fourth of July holiday weekend, 68 people were shot, five of them fatally, and on Memorial Day weekend, 41 people were shot, seven fatally.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) Tweeted about Chicago’s flawed gun laws.

Mayor Lightfoot blamed Republicans for the increase in illegal firearms in Chicago and responded to Senator Cruz, saying, “Keep our name out of your mouth.”

The Tweetstorm continued with Senator Cruz telling Mayor Lightfoot her anger “is misplaced” and pointed out that big cities with high crime rates are run by Democrats.

Cities like Chicago are plagued with violence despite harsh gun control laws.
