Cuomo to Fauci at Press Briefing: ‘We’re like the modern-day De Niro and Pacino’

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Democrat New York Governor Andrew Cuomo lauded himself and Dr. Anthony Fauci during a COVID-19 press briefing by comparing them to movie actors Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, saying, “We’re like the modern-day De Niro and Pacino.”

Cuomo jokingly asked Fauci, “Who do you want to be?”

Fauci attended Cuomo’s press briefing via video (soundbite around 33:40).

Critics commented on social media.

Ironically, Cuomo received the Founders Award at the 48th International Emmy Awards last month for his “leadership” in the handling of COVID-19, namely for his “effective use of television during the pandemic.”

The AP reports:

“The governor’s 111 daily briefings worked so well because he effectively created television shows, with characters, plot lines, and stories of success and failure,” he said. “People around the world tuned in to find out what was going on, and New York tough became a symbol of the determination to fight back.”

International Academy President and CEO Bruce Paisner and a host of celebrities, including De Niro, praised Cuomo via a video tribute.

Cuomo responded saying his press briefings provided “authentic truth and stability.”

I wish I could say that my daily COVID presentations were well-choreographed, scripted, rehearsed or reflected any of the talents that you advance. They didn’t. They offered only one thing, authentic truth and stability. But sometimes that’s enough.

Cuomo, however, is under fire over his gross mishandling of the highly contagious virus.

Under Cuomo’s watch, over 6,000 elderly in New York lost their lives because of his mandate for the elderly infected with COVID-19 to be admitted into nursing homes and elder care facilities in New York

Fox News senior meteorologist Janice Dean lost both of her in-laws due to COVID-19 and has consistently called out Cuomo over his failures on handling the virus.

Cuomo’s arrogance has no bounds. Comparing himself to Hollywood actors over his handling of COVID-19 is outrageous and shows how out of touch he is regarding his total mismanagement of the COVID-19 pandemic.
