Democrats Scream Racism to Protect Rep Cummings from Accountability for Horrible Baltimore Conditions
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Maryland Democrat Representative Elijah Cummings was called out over the deplorable and dangerous conditions in his district.
Cummings, serving his 13th term in congress, represents the majority-black district of Baltimore, Maryland.
Baltimore resident Kimberly Klacik took videos showing the horrible condition of Baltimore neighborhoods, including abandoned buildings and trash (watch videos).
It is so sad to see @VictorBlackwell & @CNN turn the light currently shining on #WestBaltimore into a race issue. This could result in a positive change. @RepCummings could help get his district in order. Listen to one of his constituents explain the "rats & rodents" problem. pic.twitter.com/LTG8AnT27x

More trash. More concerned residents. People live in the home with the silver van. This is @RepCummings district. This has nothing to do with race. Let us all pray the city removes the trash & install cameras to catch the individuals dumping on the property. #WestBaltimore pic.twitter.com/CCaRH5c0aO

President Trump posted tweets on the matter, calling Cummings’ district, “the Worst in the USA.”
Rep, Elijah Cummings has been a brutal bully, shouting and screaming at the great men & women of Border Patrol about conditions at the Southern Border, when actually his Baltimore district is FAR WORSE and more dangerous. His district is considered the Worst in the USA……
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 27, 2019
Why is so much money sent to the Elijah Cummings district when it is considered the worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States. No human being would want to live there. Where is all this money going? How much is stolen? Investigate this corrupt mess immediately!

Not surprising, liberals are ignoring the deplorable conditions in Cummings’ district and are making President Trump’s comments about race.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi defended Cummings, tweeting, “We all reject racist attacks against him….”
.@RepCummings is a champion in the Congress and the country for civil rights and economic justice, a beloved leader in Baltimore, and deeply valued colleague. We all reject racist attacks against him and support his steadfast leadership. #ElijahCummingsIsAPatriot https://t.co/2LG8AuQrHh

CNN’s Victor Blackwell, a Baltimore native, also came to Cummings’ defense in a tearful interview criticizing President Trump, saying, “When he tweets about infestation, it’s about black and brown people” (watch video).
President Trump tweeted that Rep. Elijah Cummings’ district is a “rodent infested mess” where “no human being would want to live.”
It’s @VictorBlackwell’s home district.

Although I criticized Blackwell in a Tweet, my post from July 27 only appears to be visible in my feed.
Others also criticized Blackwell.
"…but people are proud of their community."
—@VictorBlackwell @CNN, Baltimore native, 7/27/19Poll: "…63% said [#Baltimore is] on the wrong track…only 15% said…the city is improving…20% said they are satisfied with public ed. in the city…"

While President Trump’s comments are targeted by liberals, it should be noted that just a few years ago, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders echoed the same feeling about Baltimore.
Residents of Baltimore’s poorest boroughs have lifespans shorter than people living under dictatorship in North Korea. That is a disgrace.
— Bernie Sanders (@SenSanders) May 5, 2016
Horribly, someone born in Baltimore's poorest neighborhood can expect to live 20 years less than a person born in the wealthiest area.
— Bernie Sanders (@SenSanders) May 13, 2016
Fox News reports:
“Anyone who took the walk that we took around this neighborhood would not think you’re in a wealthy nation,” Sanders said during a visit to the city’s West Baltimore section in December 2015, the Baltimore Sun reported. “You would think that you were in a Third World country.”
With Democrats screaming racism over President Trump’s comments, it will be entertaining to watch how Sanders will spin his comments considering he’s running for president and desperately needs black voter support.
Shining a spotlight on the horrific conditions of the streets of Baltimore has nothing to do about race but is about reality.
As the 2020 presidential election approaches, expect more claims of racism by Democrats as a distraction.
