Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
In light of the release of several scandalous Planned Parenthood videos that implicate facility staff in the illegal sale of fetal body parts for profit, New Hampshire has stepped up and defunded the leading abortion provider in the United States.
The New Hampshire executive council ended Wednesday state funding of Planned Parenthood, the latest move to defund the organization in the wake of graphic undercover videos accusing the organization of profiting from fetal-tissue sales.
A majority of the state executive council — councilors Chris Sununu, David Wheeler and Joe Kenney — voted to terminate the state’s contract with Planned Parenthood of Northern New England over the objections of Democratic Gov. Maggie Hassan.
Ms. Hassan blasted the move in a Wednesday statement, saying, “I am incredibly disappointed in the outcome of today’s vote.”
“The council’s vote to defund Planned Parenthood will hurt the health and economic well-being of thousands of Granite Staters,” Ms. Hassan said. “Moving forward, I will continue to fight to ensure that women and families have access to the important health services that are essential to the economic security and vitality of our families.”
Of course, it is a liberal myth that ending Planned Parenthood would jeopardize health care for women.
The Susan B Anthony List group calculated that abortions made up almost 94% of Planned Parenthood’s pregnancy services in 2012. Prenatal care and adoption referrals accounted for only about 6.2%, and the facilities do not even offer mammogram services.
