Democrats Scream Racism to Protect Rep Cummings from Accountability for Horrible Baltimore Conditions

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Maryland Democrat Representative Elijah Cummings was called out over the deplorable and dangerous conditions in his district.

Cummings, serving his 13th term in congress, represents the majority-black district of Baltimore, Maryland.

Baltimore resident Kimberly Klacik took videos showing the horrible condition of Baltimore neighborhoods, including abandoned buildings and trash (watch videos).

President Trump posted tweets on the matter, calling Cummings’ district, “the Worst in the USA.”

Not surprising, liberals are ignoring the deplorable conditions in Cummings’ district and are making President Trump’s comments about race.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi defended Cummings, tweeting, “We all reject racist attacks against him….”

CNN’s Victor Blackwell, a Baltimore native, also came to Cummings’ defense in a tearful interview criticizing President Trump, saying, “When he tweets about infestation, it’s about black and brown people” (watch video).

Although I criticized Blackwell in a Tweet, my post from July 27 only appears to be visible in my feed.

Others also criticized Blackwell.

While President Trump’s comments are targeted by liberals, it should be noted that just a few years ago, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders echoed the same feeling about Baltimore.

Fox News reports:

“Anyone who took the walk that we took around this neighborhood would not think you’re in a wealthy nation,” Sanders said during a visit to the city’s West Baltimore section in December 2015, the Baltimore Sun reported. “You would think that you were in a Third World country.”

With Democrats screaming racism over President Trump’s comments, it will be entertaining to watch how Sanders will spin his comments considering he’s running for president and desperately needs black voter support.

Shining a spotlight on the horrific conditions of the streets of Baltimore has nothing to do about race but is about reality.

As the 2020 presidential election approaches, expect more claims of racism by Democrats as a distraction.
