Pelosi Minimizes Importance of Iranian Protests

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Thousands of Iranian protesters hit the streets in Tehran with chants against its ruler Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Protests in other cities in Iran were also reported. The latest round of protests was sparked by the government finally admitting it had shot down a commercial airplane.
Videos show protesters tearing down posters of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani who was killed in an airstrike ordered by President Trump.

In addition, Iranians showed respect for the U.S. and Israeli flags by walking around the flags that are painted on the ground.
The Iranian government responded to the protests by firing tear gas and shooting protesters.
President Trump supported Iranian protesters on social media.
To the leaders of Iran – DO NOT KILL YOUR PROTESTERS. Thousands have already been killed or imprisoned by you, and the World is watching. More importantly, the USA is watching. Turn your internet back on and let reporters roam free! Stop the killing of your great Iranian people!

Meanwhile, Democrats continue to criticize President Trump’s decision to kill Soleimani.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) downplayed the importance of the protests during her interview on ABC News’ “This Week.”

Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) criticized the president on “Face the Nation.”

Democrats also blamed President Trump for Iran shooting down a commercial airplane, including Democrat presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg.
Innocent civilians are now dead because they were caught in the middle of an unnecessary and unwanted military tit for tat.
My thoughts are with the families and loved ones of all 176 souls lost aboard this flight. https://t.co/zWaVgWxfdL

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews compared the Soleimani killing to the deaths of Elvis and Princess Diana.

Democrats are on the wrong side of the latest developments in Iran.
Instead of providing a unified call for freedom for the Iranian people, Democrats continue to play politics in a desperate effort to harm President Trump.
