On his first day as president, Joe Biden issued a number of executive orders including one that kills thousands of high-paying jobs by revoking the permit for the Keystone XL Pipeline.
Following his executive order, Biden was sharply criticized by Canadian elected officials and union workers over the economic impact of his decision.
The Keystone XL Pipeline was going to transport oil from Alberta, Canada to the Gulf of Mexico.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expressed he was “disappointed” on Wednesday with Biden’s decision to cancel a permit for the Keystone XL Pipeline — as the company behind it said work on the project was being suspended.
Last November, Trudeau discussed the project with Biden but his lobbying efforts apparently failed.
Alberta Premier Jason Kennedy blasted Biden to revoke the building permit and called Biden’s decision a “gut punch” and an “insult.”
The Financial Post reported on the estimated job losses from canceling the project.
TC Energy Corp. will eliminate more than 1,000 construction jobs in coming weeks and halt work on the Keystone XL oil pipeline after U.S. President Joe Biden revoked the project’s presidential permit, the company said in an email to employees.

President Biden’s first actions halt construction of President Trump’s border wall, block the Keystone XL Pipeline and re-enter the Paris Climate Accord. Instead of putting Americans first, he’s implementing a liberal agenda to score points with the international community.

Biden wasted no time dismantling the Keystone XL Pipeline by revoking the permit and by doing so, thousands of working-class high-paying jobs will be dismantled as well.
Banning construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline is only the beginning of Biden’s war on fossil fuels and his push for the Green New Deal which will kill thousands of high-paying energy jobs and threaten U.S. energy independence.
It’s a stark reminder that Biden is pursuing an America Last agenda.
