Democrat New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is highly critical of the Democrat party leaders, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, bluntly saying in a recent interview, “we need new leadership.”
When asked if Pelosi and Schumer “need to go,” Ocasio-Cortez replied, “I mean, I think so.”
Ocasio-Cortez made the comments during a podcast interview with The Intercept.
“I do think that we need new leadership in the Democratic Party,” Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) told The Intercept in an interview published Wednesday. Spokespeople for Pelosi and Schumer did not immediately return an email seeking comment on Ocasio-Cortez’s interview.

Referring to herself as a possible new leader, Ocasio-Cortez said, “I’m not ready” for such a role in the Democrat party.
The Hill reports:
“I do think that we need new leadership in the Democratic Party … the internal dynamics of the House has made it such that there’s very little option for succession,” said Ocasio-Cortez, who is 31. “It’s easy for someone to say, ‘Oh well, you know, why don’t you run?’ but the House is extraordinarily complex, and I’m not ready. It can’t be me. I know that I couldn’t do that job.”

Ocasio-Cortez supports socialist policies and it’s not surprising she wants to toss Pelosi and Schumer from their leadership positions.
Considering her criticism of Pelosi and Schumer, time will tell how long it will take for Joe Biden to be Ocasio-Cortez’ next target if he becomes president.
The socialist wing of the Democrat party wants to take control and Ocasio-Cortez is leading the effort.
